As the name suggests, Belrassic Park was based around Dinosaurs, with the hall and tables decorated with some of the most well-known giants which walked on this earth.
A total of 58 children registered for the four-day club, with an average attendance of c51 each day. Teams competed during quizzes, games and activities to win points, with team and individual prizes being given out at the end of the week at the ‘Thursday night finale’.
Stories in the week were aligned to Dinosaur characteristics, along with explanation to the fact that dinosaurs are not as old as everyone thinks they are! In fact, did you know that these large animals are mentioned in the book of Job!
Noah’s Ark (God cares), the Ten Commandments (God speaks), Walking on water (God saves) and finally the Easter story of how Jesus died and rose again, were all explained to the children through use of the big screen, a multimedia we have been privileged to have had at the chapel since 2011.
We were thankful to God for his faithfulness throughout the week, both in numbers and in giving us a safe time. Our finale on the Thursday evening was again, the best ever attended final evening, with parents and other family members coming along to see what the children had been doing plus joining in some of the games and quizzes.
Music always plays a big part in our holiday clubs and this year was no exception. Our choruses, most taken from ‘Lifetree Kids’, are a very visual and upbeat way to sing God’s praises and the children really relate to this modern form of worship songs.
We want to thank all the parents for supporting our holiday club this year in sending their children along, the show of support is always overwhelming and we give thanks to God for making our holiday clubs such a success.
Finally, we would like to thank the children for coming along each day, as without their enthusiasm it just wouldn’t be the same.
We look forward to next years holiday club. Plans are already being drawn up and we’ll be announcing the theme early 2020, so please keep an eye on our website for further details.
