In Ecclesiastes 1v9, the preacher declares “That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.”
Are you hoping for something ‘new’ this New Year? Perhaps you received something ‘new’ for Christmas? To you it may be new, but according to the preacher, there is nothing new under the sun.
Others before you will have already experienced what it is to receive your ‘new’ thing, and the thrill of you experiencing it as a ‘new’ thing will quickly wear off. It won’t feel ‘new’ for long.
As a preacher myself, I also have nothing ‘new’ to share with you. I’m a proclaimer of the old, old story of Jesus and His love. God’s way of salvation in Christ is centuries old, just like His Word the Bible in which we find that salvation explained to us.
John 3v16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Praise God if your faith is already in Jesus Christ and His sin-paying sacrifice on the cross.
If you’re not yet a believer in Him, then why not join our services online or in person and find out more about the wonderful Saviour Christians have loved to speak of for so many years. We urge you to look to Him and trust in Him this New Year.
We wish you and your family a happy 2023.
